Therapeutic Indications

CarboDelay is indicated to support healthy carbohydrate metabolism by delaying starch digestion, reducing bloating, and promoting digestive comfort. It may assist in weight management and gut health when used alongside a balanced diet.

Posology and Method of Administration

Adults: Take 2 tablets with a glass of water immediately before or with carbohydrate-rich meals, up to twice daily. Do not exceed 4 units per day.

Method of Administration: Oral use. Swallow whole; do not chew or crush, as the enteric coating ensures intestinal release.

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to any ingredient, including psyllium, white kidney bean, or green tea extracts.
  • Intestinal obstruction, fecal impaction, or swallowing difficulties.
  • Children under 18 years of age.
  • Patients with uncontrolled hypertension due to green tea’s caffeine content.

Special Warnings and Precautions for Use

Take with at least 8 oz of water to prevent choking, as psyllium husk absorbs water. Consult a healthcare professional before use if you have diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders, or are taking medications. Avoid use if you experience abdominal pain or changes in bowel habits. Green tea extract contains caffeine, which may cause nervousness or insomnia in sensitive individuals.

Interaction with Other Medicinal Products

Psyllium husk may delay absorption of medications; take medications at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after CarboDelay. Green tea extract may interact with stimulants, anticoagulants, or MAO inhibitors. Consult a doctor if taking prescription medications.

Fertility, Pregnancy, and Lactation

Fertility: No data available on effects on fertility.

Pregnancy: Safety not established; use only if recommended by a healthcare professional due to green tea’s caffeine content.

Lactation: Caffeine may pass into breast milk. Consult a doctor before use while breastfeeding.

Effects on Ability to Drive and Use Machines

No significant effects expected. However, green tea extract’s caffeine may cause nervousness or dizziness in sensitive individuals. If affected, avoid driving or operating machinery.

Undesirable Effects

Common: Mild bloating, flatulence, or abdominal discomfort (especially initially with psyllium husk).

Uncommon: Nervousness, insomnia (due to green tea’s caffeine), or allergic reactions.

Rare: Gastrointestinal obstruction if taken without sufficient water.

Overdose

Excessive intake may cause severe bloating, abdominal pain, or caffeine-related symptoms (e.g., rapid heartbeat, tremors). Seek immediate medical attention in case of overdose.
